Top Ten Worst Uses for Windows
After all these years I am willing to admit that Microsoft has won the desktop and server wars. Thanks to VMWare Windows is spreading throughout the datacenter. And, of course, there is only one operating system to use if you are dependent on Microsoft apps like Outlook, Word, and Excel. While I have joined the chorus of security folks who rail against the Microsoft Monoculture I still cannot believe some of the uses for Windows. Some of them are just downright silly, some you may claim are criminally negligent.

Is Ballmer The Right Man For Microsoft – For Another 10 Years
George Colony, CEO of Forrester Research Inc., sees a subtle slippage in Microsoft’s standing vs. rivals such as Google Inc. and Apple Inc. as Gates has disengaged himself from the company — and implies that the slippage could accelerate once Gates is even more out of the picture.

10 Million Pixel Comcast Display Wows Viewers With Un-throttled Ultra HD Video
Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Comcast sure knows how to throw together a 10 million pixel video display. The one seen here is available for ogling at the Comcast Center in Philadelphia, and covers over 2,100 square feet of wall space with four-millimeter LED lights. The images and video that play on this super screen do so with a resolution that’s five times that of HDTV. Comcast ended up paying Barco $22 million for the wall display and accompanying automated control room, which handles about 27,000 gigabytes of information. If you have 10 minutes to spare, the impressive presentation video of this thing in action is definitely worth a view.
